Hard battle for the Hornets
CUDGEN Hornets will roll up their sleeves for a hard-fought battle tomorrow with Byron Bay at Byron Bay Rugby League Ground.
In five rounds of the Northern Rivers Rugby League competition, the Hornets reside in fourth spot.
Coach Con Theodossiou said it was a crucial time for them to win and in particular the next two rounds.
“If we triumph we should climb the ladder and keep ourselves in a good position,” he said.
“We have won three from four games which is not too bad.”
Byron will be a difficult task at their home ground and they have only dropped one game so far, explained Theodossiou.
“They are pretty hard at home and we need to keep our house in order against them,” he said.
“All over the park they are pretty good and we certainly won't be targeting one player, we will be focussing on all of the players.”
The Hornets are almost at full-deck, with their centre Matt Seers out with a hamstring injury and Sean Heffernan will shift into his role. Kick-off is 3pm.
