Heart-wrenching goodbye to "best friend" Jaydon Adams

A SEA of mourners gathered yesterday to celebrate the life of Jaydon Adams, who was tragically killed in a car crash at Eight Mile near Warwick last week.

More than 1000 family members, friends, colleagues and club mates packed the Hume Ridge Church of Christ to remember the 20-year-old Aboriginal health worker, described as a loving brother and the life of every party.

Jaydon's parents Mark and Lizzie paid tribute to their youngest son in the eulogy, delivered by Mr Adams' cousin, sharing their memories of a dedicated young man with a cheeky streak.

They said their son "knew what brotherhood meant" and was passionate about his work for Goolburri Health Advancement.

"Jay-boy was a family orientated young man.

"He was…passionate about his football, culture and his work.

"As his Dad said, if you were Jay-boy's friend, you were his best friend."

Players from Jaydon's former rugby league club Brothers and current club the Ipswich Jets had a strong presence, and delivered the teams' war cries at the conclusion of the funeral.
