Hervey Bay superboats round to star on television
An estimated television audience of more than half a million viewers is expected to tune in to SBS on Sunday to watch the final round of the Offshore Superboat Championships.
National motorsport program Speedweek will feature a one-hour special of the event, which had an estimated 25,000 fans crowd the beach for the racing action.
Fraser Coast Opportunities general manager David Spear said the program would provide fantastic exposure for the region.
"We would estimate the broadcast will generate hundreds of thousands of dollars for the region and the local tourism industry," he said.
The program runs from 2-4pm with the Hervey Bay feature expected to run between 2.30-3.30pm.
FCO is seeking feedback from spectators so it could continue to grow and improve the event for next year.
