Highway robbery at Burleigh Heads

POLICE are investigating the robbery of a take-away food restaurant on the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads on Saturday night.

Initial reports suggest a man entered the store around 6.45pm.

He approached the counter and demanded money however it is unclear if he had a weapon.

The employee complied and the man fled the store on foot.

No one was physically injured.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the attack to come forward.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 175cm tall with a muscular build.

He was wearing white hooded jumper, baseball cap, sunglasses and jeans.
