Hills fab foursome takes title

TWEED Byron District Women’s Bowls Association district fours final was played at Murwillumbah Bowls Club on April 17.

Clare Hill’s awesome foursome from Cabarita Beach Women’s Bowls Club was the winner.

After defeating Ocean Shores in the semi-final, Hill’s team went on to the final and defeated another Cabarita Beach team, skippered by Joy Lake.

The eventual runner-up beat Mullumbimby in its semi-final.

An extremely high standard of bowls was displayed by all teams, much to the delight of spectators, and with Hill’s team all on fire, it was no surprise to see it emerge as the champion in this competition.

There were 17 teams competing, and the air of friendship and sportsmanship was evident at all times.

Congratulations to all players and thank you to the umpires who officiated at this event.
