Mur'bah's historic Grainery building for up sale

MURWILLUMBAH'S historic building The Grainery is for sale.

Owner Michael Parker has been operating the business as a vintage and collectables shop for 12 years.

Greg Lipshus, of Ray White Commercial Coolangatta/Tweed, said The Grainery was built in 1932 and - living up to its name - was used to store grain.

"During World War II it was used as a base for the army," Mr Lipshus said.

"When Michael bought the property, it was in an extremely rundown condition, but he has lovingly restored this landmark building.

"The Grainery has become the home to his amazing collection of antiques, lamps, lamp shades, books and other historic items. It's an Aladdin's cave of wonder that attracts customers from throughout the Tweed Shire and also South East Queensland."

Mr Lipshus said Mr Parker had initially planned to use the building to store his 25 vintage cars. It is at 30-32 Charles St.
