Hockey comp gets underway

TWEED Border Junior Hockey Association competition started on Friday night with the under-16 Waratahs boys beating Casuarina 7-0.

On Saturday morning, the under-11 girls played. Kingscliff beat Redbacks 3-0. The parents' picks were Shinade Edwards and Jade Prestwich.

Pottsville and United played a close game with the final result 1-0. Picks were Kesia Ryan-Barns and Camille Sipple.

Casuarina came out 2-0 winners over Waratahs. Picks were Alicia Kemmetmuller and Molly McAsh.

In the under-11 boys, Casuarina and Waratahs had a 1-all draw in a very exciting game. Picks were Liam Foyster and Jai Dixon.

Kingscliff beat Redbacks 1-0. Picks were Alex Barns and Jake Murnane.

The under-13 girls saw Redbacks beat Kingscliff 1-0. Picks were Charley Grimshaw and Natasha Russell.

Kingscliff Pippis beat United 7-0. Picks were Natasha Russell and Jessica Edwards.

Casuarina Aqua went down toWaratahs 1-2. Picks were Chantelle and Zayla Arthur.

The under-13 boys saw Kingscliff and Redbacks have a 1-all draw. Picks were Billy Skinner and James Knight.

Casuarina beat Waratahs 7-0. Picks were Isaac Lindly and Matthew Williams.

The under-16 girls saw Casuarina overcome Waratahs 3-0. Picks were Savannah Fitzpatrick and Lisa Williams.

Kingscliff defeated Redbacks 4-1. Picks were Zardi Blair and Erin Booth.

United had the bye.
