Goal-fest launches a quality round

THE weekend's hockey moved into full swing on Friday night with a good old fashioned goal-fest.

Nine goals were scored in the women's JH Williams Cup match between Mullumbimby and United, with Mullum coming out on top 5-4.

Despite a Kimberly Watts' double and goals to Kelly Roatz and Sam Johnston, United were unable to find the elusive draw with Sam Iwanuscha, Nicole Danvers, Kim Chappel, Sopie Rodda and Jo Tunstall all getting in on the action for Mullum.

In the men's match, an ill-disciplined Kingscliff side again self-destructed, this time having four players sin-binned in their 5-0 loss to United. A Jamie Barrett double and one each to Luke and Brendon Iwanuscha and Cameron Gibb sealed the deal for United.
