Hogan's old digs for sale at $7m

A BYRON Bay real estate agent has been commissioned to sell the luxury mansion built by Paul Hogan at Possum Creek.

Nicolette van Wijngaarden, of Unique Estates, who is based at Coorabell, was last week given the listing of the prestigious property, known as Cedar Springs.

A relative newcomer to the Byron property scene, Ms van Wijngaarden hit the ground running last year, selling $40 million worth of property in the 10 days leading up to Christmas.

The owners of Cedar Springs, well-known Sydney identities Duncan and Sally Mount, are looking for offers over $7 million. The house was built by Hogan for his wedding in 1990 to Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski.

They sold it to the Mounts in 2006 for a then record Byron Shire figure of $8.3 million.

The Mounts subdivided the land, selling off two blocks.

It has a spectacular Mediterranean-style home, set in 46.1 hectares of land incorporating rolling lawns and tropical rainforest and with two kilometres of frontage on Wilsons and Possum creeks.

The main house has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms and covers 700sq m of living space, including a games room and billiards room and gym. There is a formal lounge and dining room that can seat 20 for dinner.
