Home audits reveal power bill savings

AFTER conducting 4000 energy audits of Tweed homes, Bruce and Faye Gard reckon they know how to slash your power bill.

The Casuarina couple will be giving out tips that they claim can save households up to 20 per cent on their energy bills at two free workshops sponsored by Tweed Shire Council next month.

"Reducing your power bill can be as simple as opening or closing your curtains at the right time of day," Mr Gard said.

Prize draws at the workshops will offer participants the chance to win energy saving devices.

The workshops will be held on Tuesday April 5, 12.30 - 1.30pm, Reef Room, Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre, and Wednesday April 6, 10.30 - 11.30am, Coolamon Room, Banora Point Community Centre.

Register by calling the council on (02) 6670 2400.

Bruce and Faye will also be available at the council's tent at the Seniors Expo, Thursday 7 April, 9am - 3pm, Seventh Day Adventist Complex, Racecourse Road, Murwillumbah.
