EVER wanted to 'own' a racehorse? Here's your chance!

The Murwillumbah Court House Hotel is holding a Murwillumbah Cup Calcutta night tomorrow, on the eve of the big race to help raise funds for the Murwillumbah Hospital Auxiliary.

By purchasing a raffle ticket in the Calcutta, people go into the draw for a horse - namely one of the runners in the Murwillumbah Cup.

Winning raffle ticket holders then 'own' the horses.

The horses are then put up for auction, with the lucky ticket owners receiving half the proceeds of each auction sale with the other half going into a prize pool.

Once all the bidding is completed, anxious owners of the horses in the field in the Murwillumbah Cup will then have to wait until Sunday for the running of the big race to find out just which 'owners' collect the prizemoney form the pool.

A percentage from the prize pool will go directly toward the auxiliary.

Details of the Calcutta are available at the Court House Hotel and Calcutta tickets for the fun night are on sale at the Court House Hotel, Murwillumbah Cellars, Eric Levers Health Food, Andersons Jewellers, Wizz's Takeaway, Queen Street Veterinary, Mike and Julie Jenkins Golf Shop, WHK, George & Fuhrmann and the Condong Bowls Club.

The night gets at underway from 7.30pm.
