Hot time at Copacabana Beach

COPACABANA Beach, Rio de Janeiro - where the rich, famous and the tourists come to play.

For just 13 reals ($9) you can hire an umbrella and two chairs to kick back on the beach.

Men and women scurry between the umbrellas offering anything from prawns on a skewer or beverages to sarongs or bikinis.

One need not move an inch.

Or there are soccer and volleyball nets aplenty for the hot bods to show off their sporting prowess.

All the while, Rio's iconic Christ statue stands high above the city overseeing all below.

Though he chooses to show himself seldomly, so a tram trip to the top for his magnificent views should be chosen wisely.
