Housing estate sales soaring

BUYERS who have cottoned on to big savings being offered by NSW Government stamp duty exemptions for new homes have helped push sales in Murwillumbah's Riva Vue housing estate past the halfway mark.

Agents say buyers who have twigged to the huge state government stamp duty discounts plus new home buyers who also benefit from the $7000 first home owner grant are taking advantage of the current “buyers' market”.

The $23 million Riva Vue development has hit two major milestones, with titles for stage three registered and the estate 56 per cent sold. Marketing agent Lance Cotterill said the “buyers' market” was being driven by first home buyers and NSW residents taking advantage of the discounts available from State Government.

“With the current NSW State Government discount on stamp duty available to all NSW residents, buyers are realising they can purchase a house and land package with no stamp duty payable,” he said.
