HSC exams start today across NSW

THE school careers of more than 70,000 NSW students are coming to an end with the start of HSC exams today.

Starting with English, the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards will conduct 118 HSC written exams over the next four weeks.

These will be held in 750 exam centres staffed by more than 7,500 supervisors and presiding officers.

NSW Minister for Education Adrian Piccoli wished students the best of luck in the final tests of their schooling life.

"My message to students is to stay focused over the next month, but to also take care of themselves - get plenty of rest, eat healthy meals, exercise and ask for help if needed," he said.

"Remember you have already done much of the work which will determine your final HSC result in assessments and tests undertaken during the year."

Students will receive their HSC results on Wednesday December 16.
