Human head washed up on shore at holiday destination

BODY parts have been found stuffed in a plastic bag which washed up on a beach at a popular Western Australian holiday destination on the weekend.

The grim discovery was made by a tourist at Rottnest Island's Porpoise Bay late Sunday.

The remains were taken to Perth for forensic examination.

Police have confirmed the bag appeared to contain a human head but have not released further details.
