Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailer a YouTube hit

THE Hunger Games: Catching Fire final trailer has raced to YouTube's most popular after debuting during Sunday night's World Series Baseball in the US.

The 67 second trailer, short by movie standards, asks the question to its star: "Would you like to be in a real war?''.

It's something baseball fans have been watching as the Boston Red Soxs and St. Louis Cardinals go head to head in a nail-biting series.

In 18 hours, the trailer has had more than 1.7 million views on YouTube.

Howler monkeys. Jabberjays. Jennifer Lawrence doing what she does best (when her face throbs with panic and she lets loose one of those raspy screams) all feature in the trailer, reports Inside Movies.

"Willow Shields' Prim and Josh Hutcherson's Peeta, and Donald Sutherland's President Snow's menacing voice of course, had nice moments.

"But the trailer rightfully belonged to Lawrence's Katniss.''

The American science-fiction adventure film is based on Suzanne Collins' novel, Catching Fire, the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy.

Francis Lawrence is set to direct a screenplay from Simon Beaufoy and Michael Arndt.

Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen along with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones and Willow Shields also reprising their roles.

Filming began September 10, 2012 in and around metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Hawaii.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is scheduled to be released in IMAX on November 22, 2013 in the United States.
