Hunt for man who punched woman, 75

GOLD Coast police are still looking for a man who assaulted a 75-year-old woman during a hold-up at Tugun on Friday.

Detectives were viewing CCTV footage and canvassing the area around the Foodworks convenience store on Golden Four Dr.

He allegedly lifted his jumper showing what is believed to be the top of a hand gun and made demands for cash.

The man punched the elderly woman in the face before fleeing the store.

He was last seen getting into a yellow car on Maud St, Tugun.

The elderly woman sustained an injury to her face, but the staffer was uninjured.

Police are looking for a man described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 180cm tall, in his 20s and with a solid build.
