Hunt for trio of armed robbers in regard to two hold-ups

POLICE in Northern NSW are hunting a trio of armed robbers, believed to be responsible for two hold-ups in the New England Region overnight.

In the first incident, three masked men stormed a fast-food store at Armidale, jumped the counter, threatened staff with knives and fled with cash and a handbag late Tuesday.

Hours later, a 22-year-old woman had just parked her car at another Armidale fast-food store when a trio matching the same description threatened her with a knife and took off in her car.

Police are searching for a red Holden Commodore sedan with NSW registration KR-42-NK.
