IMAGINE small waves lapping up against your kayak while you soak up some sunshine and cruise lazily along the Tweed River.

You might be daydreaming right now, but it's rather easy to turn the relaxation into reality.

Barbara Gates, 64, from Tweed Heads is selling her kayak, including paddle and safety vest, for $1200 on Daily News' Finda service.

Sad to let her prized possession go but keen to pocket some extra cash, Mrs Gates said using the service couldn't have been easier.

"I came into the Daily's office because I was at Service NSW next door and thought I'd sell the kayak," she said.

"It was all quite easy. The lady at the desk was lovely.

"It's my kayak and I really do love it, so it'll be sad to see it go."

Mrs Gates didn't realise her Finda ad would be listed online, as well as in the newspaper, but was glad to have the opportunity to reach more potential buyers.

She had unsuccessfully used other methods to sell her kayak, but was drawn to the Finda classifieds due to the localised nature of the service.

"I thought it would be a good way to get the local people I wanted looking at the ad," Mrs Gates said.

"I'm expecting I'll get a call soon and it will sell pretty quickly."

The kayak is not the only item she's selling, with an electric bed and leather recliner also on Finda.
