Injured worker scores $342k
ONE lucky Tweed Heads man woke up $342,174.04 richer yesterday.
The man said yesterday that the Lotto win, purchased from a Tweed City newsagent, will change his life.
“I'm shaking like a leaf; this couldn't come at a better time,” he said.
The father of two is currently off work due to an injury.
“I've been battling along recently and now this has come up; this sure has changed my life,” he said.
“I'll definitely buy a place and secure my future.”
The man said he could feel his luck getting closer after being one number off winning the Pools a few weeks ago.
He then checked his Lotto numbers online on Monday night and saw he had won.
“I couldn't believe it, I couldn't sleep; I was just full of anxiety.
"I eventually woke my partner up at four in the morning and told her.
“She responded with, ‘Go back to sleep, you're dreaming'.
"She didn't believe me,” he said with a laugh.
The winner scored a $333,333.34 share in Monday Lotto's $1 million draw plus an additional $8840.70 in divisional prizes with a systems 10 ticket purchased from Tweed City News.
NSW Lotteries officials were able to contact the winner as he is a member of Players Club.
By becoming a Players Club member and registering each lottery purchase, players protect their prizes and ensure they can be contacted with news of a big win.
The man shared the $1 million division-one prize with a ticket holder in the Southern NSW town of Cooma and another in South Australia.
The winning numbers for Monday Lotto's $1 million draw 3026 were 35, 23, 5, 27, 8 and 15 with the supplementary numbers 45 and 14.
