Innovation festival for businesses
BUSINESS owners and innovators will be dealt a treat with the Northern Rivers Innovation Festival to be launched on Sunday.
The event will feature experts in the fields of innovation, design technology and advanced manufacturing technologies in locations from the Tweed to Taree for the entire month of May.
Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast executive officer Peter Tregilgas said innovation was different for everyone.
“It can be as simple as doing everyday things at home better or finding more efficient ways of working by improving processes and reducing energy and waste,” Mr Tregilgas said.
“Innovation is like problem-solving.
“You have a problem; you generate some ideas of how to solve it and then you create a process and implement it, which ultimately yields a good result.”
Mr Tregilgas said the festival was a great opportunity to showcase innovation within an organisation so others could adopt these approaches to work smarter. This in turn will ensure the region's sustainability and economic growth.
This will be the third annual North Coast Innovation Festival.
