The internet reacts to first full Game of Thrones s6 trailer
HBO dropped the first full-length trailer for the upcoming sixth season of Game of Thrones and, not surprisingly, it's the most-talked about topic on social media this morning.
After the release of several cryptic teaser trailers, the new one minute and 40 second clip, posted on the show's Facebook page, sheds light on some of the main story lines expected to carry through the season.
The clip has racked up more than nine million views after just three hours online.
Queen mother Cersei Lannister looks set to clash with the religious extremists she helped to bring to power in Kings Landing, while her brother and lover Jaime vows revenge, presumably for the death of their daughter.
Her brother Tyrion sums up this season's overarching theme when he says: "you're in the great game now and the great game is terrifying".
While photos of Kit Harrington on the set of the show have already leaked, it appears his character Jon Snow will come back in some form after being left for dead.
After his absence last season Isaac Hempstead-Wright returns as Bran Stark, who is seen encountering the leader of the white walker army his half-brother Jon Snow had an encounter with last season.
The trailer also reveals Bran's sister Sansa survives her jump from the wall of Winterfell with Theon.
A disheveled Danaerys is seen walking into the Dothraki city of Vaes Dothrak, with her trusty body guard Jorah Mormont in pursuit.
Arya Stark is also seen with clouded white eyes and lashes on her face, while red priestess Melisandre is heard admitting her prophesies were wrong.
Season six debuts on Foxtel's Showcase channel at 11am on Monday April 25.
