Interstate interest for pub owner

A NEW division of the property group behind the Casuarina Beach development says it has embarked on a nationwide search for a new operator of the township’s local pub.

The Consolidated Hotel Group, a newly-launched arm of Consolidated Properties Group, said it is looking for “the right operators” for its landmark Sandbar and Grill complex which the Tweed Daily News last Saturday revealed had suddenly closed.

The company said the Sandbar was “one of the first cutting-edge restaurant and bars on the new Tweed Coast” and the Consolidated Hotel Group took over its reins in mid 2009 when its previous operator struck difficulties.

Consolidated Properties Group national leasing manage Andi Avdyl said the Sandbar offered a very unique opportunity for the right operator. He said a major advertising campaign was likely to draw interest from all around Australia.

“We expect to receive a lot of interest from Sydney and Melbourne as the business provides the perfect opportunity for a sea change,” he added.
