Investigation into lessening cat impact on fauna

TWEED Shire Council is to investigate how to lessen the impacts of cats on native fauna.

The council voted (6-1) at the last monthly meeting for staff to prepare a report on current research on the interactions between cats and native wildlife.

The successful notice of motion by Cr Gary Bagnall also called for recommendations on what measures have been successfully employed by other councils to combat domestic cats, and what may work here in the Tweed.
