Spectre's Aston Martin DB10 on show with DB5 original
THE release of any new James Bond film typically brings a decent dose of automotive drooling, not least because an Aston Martin badge is oft involved.
So entwined are cars and Bond that it isn't merely enough to have the launch of the new Spectre film, but also a one-hour documentary following the creation of the Aston Martin DB10s used in the movie.
Blenheim Palace in England played host to the premiere of DB10: Built for Bond, documenting the design and engineering of the ten DB10s built, all of which survived the rigours of Spectre's punishing car chases.
Each of the two-door coupes was built specifically for the film using a V8 Vantage S's underpinnings and 313kW 4.7-litre bent-eight engine.
Aston Martin and James Bond go back more than 50 years, when Sean Connery piloted a DB5 in 1964's Goldfinger.
Spectre, the 24th James Bond film, will be the 12th in the series to feature an Aston Martin.
The soggy English event featured the iconic DB5 model alongside the latest film's DB10, while 50 further Astons were also in attendance.
