Jarratt lends support to Duff fundraiser

VETERAN Australian actor and former Crystal Creek resident John Jarratt, of 'Wolf Creek' fame, will attend a fundraising dinner for Donna Duff on Sunday, October 14 at the Riverside Pizza and Thai Cafe in Commercial Rd in Murwillumbah.

After Ms Duff's recent brush with death due to an infection, the mother of two remains in a stable condition at Gold Coast Hospital.

Although there are no major changes in her condition, there may be some light at the end of the tunnel with Ms Duff regaining some feeling in parts of her body which were numb until recently.

Ms Duff's father Tassie Duff said the Murwillumbah community had shown a lot of support for Ms Duff and continued to do so.

The fundraising night this Sunday evening will start at 6pm and although everyone is welcome, bookings for diners are essential.

Organisers hope Mr Jarratt's presence will attract a large crowd willing to dig deep for Ms Duff and Mr Jarratt will assist the cause by signing copies of his successful movie Wolf Creek which will be sold on the night.

Mr Duff said his daughter's recovery was a waiting game and although her recuperation was far from certain, events like Sunday night's fundraiser would definitely lift her spirit.
