Jessica and Marcos knocked out of MKR
MY KITCHEN Rules' most fussy eaters Jessica and Marcos finally had to back up their tough talk around the dinner table tonight.
The fitness friends not only aimed to achieve the highest score in their group, they planned to do it with healthy food.
But their vegetarian menu and boxing-themed instant restaurant went down like a lead balloon with judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel.
The guest teams couldn't make sense of the menu, which featured the carbs and oil Jessica had previously claimed she avoids eating.
"The star of this plate should be the herb and zucchini fritters," Pete Evans said.
"It's halfway there, sort of, because the fritters themselves, I love the colour you've got on them; I love the texture of them, but they're lacking flavour.
"Your yoghurt sauce is fantastic, that's the star."
Guests waited more than two hours for the main course and Italians Luciano and Martino were not impressed with the mushy mushroom version of ragu.
"When it comes to the ragu I'm a little disappointed," Manu Feildel said.
"I'm dreaming of all those beautiful mushrooms… they've just been mushed to nothing. They could be anything.
"I don't think it's a bad dish but it could have been a lot better."
Again time got away from the duo as Jessica's perfectionist tendencies left their guest waiting more than two hours for dessert.
"I'm missing the spice in the cake; I've got no idea if there's pineapple in there or not," Feildel said.
"I've got a carrot cake, (but) the cake is missing sugar. I'm not getting this dessert. I think you've tried too hard."
The guest teams scored Jessica and Marcos just 11 out of 50, sealing their fate as the second team eliminated from the reality cooking show.
The third round of instant restaurants was also revealed tonight to the remaining 10 teams, with viewers getting their first look at the new teams for Colin Fassnidge's round.
He will be joined tomorrow night by special guest judge Rachel Khoo.
