Justine Elliot says both Albanese and Shorten are good
HIGH profile MP Anthony Albanese has confirmed he will take on Bill Shorten for the ALP leadership.
After days of speculation, Mr Albanese confirmed to his colleagues in the first post-election caucus meeting today he will be standing in the ballot.
On Thursday, just hours before flying out to Canberra, newly returned Richmond Labor MP Justine Elliot said both men would make strong contenders for the party leadership.
"They're both really good. They're both outstanding," Mrs Elliot said.
Mr Albanese's nomination will spark a rank-and-file ballot which will count 50-50 with a caucus vote towards the ultimate result.
