Kangaroo saviour's run at politics

AN IPSWICH man who was famously photographed saving a kangaroo during January's floods will be making a run at state politics.

Ray Cole will run for former LNP member Aidan McLindon's The Queensland Party as the candidate for the seat of Bundamba.

Mr Cole said he was concerned about public transport, road safety and providing opportunities for young people in the area.

“I became so angry last year when the buses were taken away and it was proof that the Labor Party has taken this area for granted for too long," Mr Cole said.

"I also fully support The Queensland Party’s campaign to improve bus safety as my own son was hit by a truck recently after leaving a school bus and he is very lucky to be alive.”
