Kids get creative on holidays

KIDS can get surreal these school holidays with free art workshops at Gold Coast City Gallery.

Already many children have dropped into the workshops which are held from 10am to noon until Friday and from 11am to 3pm this Saturday.

"We have already had lots of little visitors and we're anticipating more on Saturday," assistant curator Phillipa Lean said.

The workshops include surrealist and torn paper collage techniques, Decalcomania and the Exquisite Corpse game.

"They are really enjoying the collage activity and "Decalcomania" where kids are asked to create a picture out of a random inkblot," Ms Lean said.

To be a part of the creative activity buzzing away at the gallery there is no need to book just arrive with an open mind.

The gallery is at 135 Bundall Rd Surfers Paradise.
