Kingi and Caro cook up another win on The Block

QUEENSLANDERS Kingi and Caro secured their third room reveal win on The Block tonight.

The Townsville parents impressed during the competitive week of kitchen deliveries, beating penthouse renovators Dean and Shay by just half a point.

"It's the cherry on top to what we've been trying to achieve in the other rooms," Caro said.

The high-tech kitchen featured a touch-screen splash back and an island bench rendered by Kingi.

"I love it when the kitchen feels like the hero of the apartment," Neale Whitaker said.

Judge Shaynna Blaze called it hot, sexy and sophisticated.

Dean and Shay were lucky to deliver a finished kitchen after facing unique dramas because they chose to change the location of their kitchen to take in the city views.

"That is wow factor; I haven't used that phrase in a long time," Whitaker said.

But the couple's space did have functionality issues including the size of the island bench and the height of the range hood.

So-called "queen of storage" Blaze even recommended they take out some of their cupboards to extend the mirror behind the sink to reflect the views.

Luke and Ebony impressed with their classic black and white colour scheme.

"I think Luke and Ebony have finally hit their stride," Whitaker said.

Guest judge Romy Alwill praised their attention to detail with their handles and cupboard doors.

But Alwill and Blaze questioned the functionality of the sink's position and the potential danger of the extreme corner of the island bench facing what will be the dining room.

"You will get buyers who will be looking at this apartment for a family and go this is really dangerous," Blaze said.

Andrew and Whitney were praised for designing a fresh kitchen - their strongest room so far according to Whitaker.

But the Melbourne couple was also plagued by functionality issues.

"The last thing you want in a kitchen is a dance hall," Blaze said.

"It's that functionality test of how you use a kitchen."

The judges were also confused by the unused spaces on either side of the bench top under the windows, which made the space feel incomplete.

Gold Coast mums Suzi and Vonni finished last for the second week in a row.

Their entertainers' kitchen had a lot of great features but lacked a warm, welcoming feel.

"Out of the three kitchens we've seen to day this is the one I don't want to sit in… it needs a big injection of soul," Whitaker said.

"On an entertaining level it certainly works, but for me it's always about how you connect emotionally."

Their Teppanyaki bench also faced issues after they weren't able to install the plumbing for a sink and had to cover up the hole with a custom-made cutting board.

Tomorrow night the partially finished apartments will be inspected by a group of buyers' agents for the first time.

The teams will also begin work on their dining room and foyers.
