Kingscliff pro ready for third title

AFTER spending the past three months touring across America, on a trip which included surfing and playing guitar with former three times world champion Tom Curren, Steph Gilmore is back home and refocusing on her third attempt for a consecutive World Title.

The two-times world champ from Kingscliff, who leads the world ratings, will be pulling the contest rashy back on for the Commonwealth Bank Layne Beachley Pro WCT at the end of this month.

It is the third WCT event with four more events remaining to decide the world title including Portugal, Peru and two final events in Hawaii.

The Gidget Pro has been confirmed as a WCT event for Sunset Beach, previously a WQS, and the final event will be at Honolua Bay, Maui for the Billabong Pro.

The Beachley Pro will move from Manly Beach to the new venue at Dee Why Point, a notorious sucky right-hand point break which should suit Gilmore's naturally gifted style.
