Kingscliff quickest on the Tweed

KINGSCLIFF Public School proved the quickest on the Tweed during the district cross-country championships at Jack Bayliss Park recently.

Excited banter and good-natured competitiveness arose between the eight schools –Kingscliff, Banora Point, Centaur, Terranora, Bilambil, Tweed Heads, Cudgen, and Tweed Heads South – as runners were marshalled to their designated starting areas in readiness for the scenic 3km course.

Each school heralded strong competitors but it was Kingscliff that won the overall honours from the speedsters at Banora Point and Centaur primaries.

An enjoyable day was had by all and most will get to do it all again, with 83 students qualifying for the next level of competition.
