Speaking up over theft
KINGSCLIFF musician Jayne Henry is devastated after having an expensive speaker system stolen from her car.
Ms Henry saved up to purchase the speaker after she injured her back and shoulders.
The speaker is designed so it is easy for Ms Henry to manoeuvre it onto the stage.
“I'm a singer, it's what I do and now I have lost my livelihood,” she said. “It is a Bose L1 Compact Speaker and it was stolen with a soft cover with Bose written on it and a power cord.
“The speaker serial number is 050547Z0100 0008AE.”
Ms Henry said the speaker was stolen on Tuesday night between 10pm and 4am from her car parked in her driveway.
“I contacted police, but I just need it returned and there will be no more questions asked,” Ms Henry said. “I am offering a cash reward for its return.
“These systems are unique digital technology and not many people have them. They have only been on the market for two years and are used for stage performance.
“I need it back, otherwise I cannot perform. I will have to try to rent or borrow one. “I have only had it for six weeks.
“It definitely makes me feel insecure, knowing it was stolen from my car in front of my home.
“I hope people can be on the lookout for it and let me know if they see it. Only a musician would be using it.
“If you have seen one of these in someone's lounge room in the area, then odds-on it is mine and is stolen. Please let me know.”
Ms Henry has asked for anyone with information regarding the stolen speaker to contact her on 0418720048 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
