Kreative Koncepts boss blames Stockland shops for closure

ARTS and Crafts shop Kreative Koncepts is closing its doors after recording disappointing sales and losing customers to new competitors.

Shop owner Annette Poacher who bought the shop on Main St two years ago said she would close it down after selling the remaining craft supplies.

"We have a 30-50% closing down sale and once we manage to sell most of it we will close the shop," she said.

Mrs Poacher said the opening of Spotlight, Kmart and other new shops at Stockland Hervey Bay was the main reason why her business failed.

"We've worked seven days a week for two years and it's absolutely disappointing to not receive support from the community," she said.

"We moved from our small shop in Old Maryborough Rd to this one on Main St hoping a bigger shop will cater to more people but the new shops have made business difficult for us.

"The roadworks at the end of Main St also didn't help our business."

Kreative Koncepts still has hundreds of craft supplies available at discounted prices.
