Kurtis' family takes no comfort in accused man's death

WHY? It's the question the family of Kurtis West is still asking after the tragic loss of their son and the subsequent suicide of the man charged over his death.

Yesterday devastated family members corrected a report in the Morning Bulletin where a quote taken out of context from a policeman (see apology) inferred the family had taken closure from the accused man's death.

"His death doesn't bring any closure and won't bring Kurtis back," Kurtis' mum Roxanne West said.

"We get no pleasure at all from this man taking his life.

"The whole thing is absolutely devastating for our family and his family. They never brought their son up (for this to happen).

"We still don't have the answer."

The West family will today farewell Kurtis at a funeral in Rockhampton.
