Drivers beware, Scenic Dr landslip leaves crumbling mess

A LANDSLIP on Scenic Dr in Tweed Heads West has worsened following continued rain and has now blocked half of the road.

The slip on first occurred last fortnight.

Joe Takave and Jonene Doull moved into a house above the landslip site earlier this year.

"I didn't hear it when it happened," Mr Takave said.

"We just heard the excavators cleaning it up the next morning."

Mr Takave said he was concerned about the potential of further slips at the site with part of the driveway hanging over the slip.

"It wasn't like that yesterday. It (soil) wasn't on the road," he said while inspecting the slip area today.

"I don't know what they are going to do."

Motorists travelling along Scenic Dr should be aware that part of the road is blocked at the landslip site.

My Daily News is awaiting a response from Tweed Shire Council.
