Lawnmower Man's walk for Hannah

CLAUDE "Lawnmower Man" Harvey, famous for his many charity walks around the Gold Coast, was off on another walking adventure on Saturday.

This time Mr Harvey and his famed donation mower walked from Tweed Heads to Burleigh to raise money for seven-year-old Currumbin girl Hannah Watson, who has been diagnosed with autism.

The family needs $25,000 to send Hannah to America for intensive play-based therapy to help her communicate and learn, and although the tally from Saturday's walk is yet to be calculated, Hannah's mother Lyndall Watson has been overwhelmed by the support.

"Claude is an amazing man. He's brilliant, a heart of gold," Mrs Watson said.

"Hannah was so happy. Although she only got about halfway, she did so well.

"We all had buckets that quickly filled up with coins and people of all ages approached us to see what was going on."

To find out more, visit the Facebook page Making A Difference, Hannah's Son-Rise Playroom.

To donate, or if you have any questions, call Lyndall on 0412 988 422.
