Leading the comp and a new clubhouse to boot

COINCIDING with their top of the table clash with Broadbeach, Murwillumbah Soccer Club opened its new clubhouse on Saturday afternoon.

Mayor Barry Longland, Member for Lismore Thomas George and Gold Coast Football officials attended the opening just before kickoff at Jim Devine Fields.

Club President Jim McCarthy is chuffed with the new second floor section on the clubhouse.

"The Top half of the building was removed and totally rebuilt, the results are fantastic and we are happy it's officially open, and a draw with Broadbeach on the day is not a bad result on the field either," Mr McCarthy said.

Things are going well for the club who are leading the competition and looking good to take out the minor premiership.

They were unlucky to not have beaten Broadbeach outright, a result of an own goal late in the second half.
