Legendary performers reunite for latest tour

LEGENDARY Australian rockers James Reyne OAM and Mark Seymour will play Twin Towns in August as part of their And The Rest Is History tour.

The tour - which kicks off this month before reaching Twin Towns on Friday, August 12 - marks a reunion of the live relationship the pair began back in 2007, on an acclaimed 90-date national tour.

Reyne and Seymour will perform a collection of their solo, Australian Crawl and Hunters and Collectors classics, after public demand and timing brought them back together.

“There’s been a demand for it and people have often asked us when we’re going to do it again, and we’ve always gone ‘Ah well you know, one day, one day’,” Reyne said.

“The fact we hadn’t done it for a while, we had a good time (in 2007) and we’re friends, so we thought it might be a good time to do it again.

“He’s (Seymour) been doing his stuff, I’ve been doing my stuff, so I think its just one of those things that happened organically.”

Reyne has sold more than two million albums and his songs, including The Boys Light Up, Reckless and Hammerhead have provided the soundtrack to countless Australian summers.

Former frontman of Aussie Rock powerhouses Hunters and Collectors, Seymour has also enjoyed success as one of Australia’s premier songwriters.

Both artists’ music is recognisable and the pair have remained relevant, transcending generations, which Reyne - a tireless tourer - said kept fans coming back.

“I like touring and I’m grateful that people still want to come. We’re still getting great crowds and they seem to be coming even more than they used to,” he said.

“I was lucky to be around at a time when Aussie radio was really supportive of Australian music and many people know the songs.”

For the upcoming tour, Reyne and Seymour will each play a set of their own works, before coming together to finish the show.

“I’m looking forward to it, people will love it and know all the songs. It’ll be a great night,” Reyne said.

Dinner and show packages are available. Visit Twin Towns for tickets and times.
