Accused sexual predator: Lennox Head elderly foster carer

AN ELDERLY foster carer was among several accused sexual predators to be arrested this week as part of ongoing investigations by the NSW Child Abuse Squad.

A 77-year-old man was arrested at his Lennox Heads home on Wednesday and charged over the alleged sexual assault of three children.

Police will allege the children - a boy and two girls - were aged between seven and 17 when they were in the care of the man and his wife.

The man was granted conditional bail until his court appearance on February 13.

Further south, police raided the home of a man they suspected of dealing with child pornography at Forster.

Inside the home, police allegedly discovered to computers containing child abuse material.

The man was bailed to appear at the Taree Local Court on February 11.

In the state's central west, an accused online predator was arrested at his home at Bathurst.

Police allege the 27-year-old man attempted to a groom a 14-year-old girl for sex via a social networking site.

He was charged with child grooming, producing or possessing child abuse material and use a carriage service to transmit child pornography and refused bail.
