FIND your passion and make it a career.

This was the message delivered at Bond University yesterday during the Get the Life you Love forum.

The event was held to inspire students to choose their career through understanding and knowledge of their interests, skills, and opportunities.

On hand to deliver this message were TV and radio journalist Steve Liebmann, former NRL player Preston Campbell and winner of the 2011 women's category Coolangatta Gold, Courtney Hancock.

Get the Life You Love project director Karen Penrose said the students' enthusiasm was a sign the event was a success.

"When students are walking out afterwards and still discussing what they have heard then you know they have been listening," Ms Penrose said.

"The message was that sometimes it's about following a passion. We want the students to know that sometimes they need to give things a go and see what happens.

"The guest speakers also highlighted the need to have support and to have a mentor when choosing a career."

Ms Penrose said the guest speakers talked about their devotion to their jobs and how they chased their dreams.

"Courtney Hancocok told the audience that her alarm goes off at 4.30am every morning for training, but she wouldn't be able to get up if she didn't love what she did," Ms Penrose said.

"This is what the students were picking up on; it's about motivation and knowing what direction to follow."

Six young Gold Coast people with inspiring career stories and advice also took to the stage to share their stories.
