HEALTH professional Kerri-Anne Dooley has been selected as the LNP candidate for the Redcliffe by-election.

Ms Dooley, a former Family First candidate, is a registered nurse specialising in clinical education.

She is vice-president of Palliative Care Queensland and is also involved in a number of Redcliffe community organisations including the Redcliffe Special School Chaplaincy Committee and Redcliffe Rotary Sunrise.

LNP State Director Brad Henderson said on Thursday that Ms Dooley has the track record to provide the fresh start Redcliffe needs.

"Kerri-Anne has lived in Redcliffe all her life and can give the people of her community a strong, local voice in the Newman LNP Government," he said.

The date for the Redcliffe by-election is still to be announced, but is expected to be held in early February.
