LNP would rather lose than win minority government

THE LNP would rather sit as Opposition than rule as a minority government.

Campbell Newman ruled out negotiating with independents and Katter's Australian MPs if the LNP fails to win enough seats to govern on its own.

"That is what I am doing, absolutely," Mr Newman said.

The LNP is attempting to twist its falling popularity since 2012 into a campaign positive by highlighting "the dangers" of a minority government.

The latest opinion polls point to a growth in primary support to the LNP and a 52 to 48 per cent lead on a two-party preferred basis.
