Local lands kitten role in CATS cast

NOT too many 13-year-olds can boast involvement in an iconic musical involving hundreds of performers.

Terranora resident Natasha Bitancurt will, however, be lucky enough to perform as a kitten in the upcoming  production of CATS in Brisbane.

Natasha auditioned for the show at the request of her Gold Coast singing teacher Danielle Lo Passo from Vocal Adrenaline Performing Arts.

"I feel really honoured," Natasha said.

Despite quite a bit of performing experience, Natasha said she'd never taken part in such a large-scale production before.

"I've done musicals with the school and a few showcases," she said.

The Lindisfarne student said she'd met some wonderful performers on her CATS journey so far.

"It has been incredible," she said.

"I've made new friends who I talk to every day."

Natasha travels to Brisbane most weekends for rehearsals.

She said her family had been tremendously supportive during the rehearsal period.

CATS will show five times at Brisbane Convention Centre, from July 4 to 6.
