EVERY day we are bombarded by facts that show we are becoming an obese nation.
Many of us have said or heard friends say: "I need to lose weight." Unfortunately the next time we see them, they usually say the same thing.
Getting started is one of the hardest things we can do in life.
Theories describe how people go from pre-contemplation, meaning not thinking about losing weight, to contemplation, meaning considering and agreeing that we need to lose weight, to taking action to lose weight.
It takes significant effort to go from contemplation to action. It requires the development of an action plan.
This action plan can include changing your diet, increasing or starting exercise.
We may follow the plan ourselves or seek the assistance of others.
If the plan is not well-developed, it may quickly fail.
This is when many people fail to achieve their goal of taking action.
For example, never eating chocolate is not a realistic plan.
Plans need to be designed with our lifestyle, economic and social capabilities in mind.
Changing what we eat and how much we eat and how much we exercise is no easy task.
However, with a solid plan in place you can achieve health.
