Louise Adams makes X Factor Top 3 after Big T is sent home

LOUISE Adams has the Australian public to thank for her X Factor grand final berth.

The blues singer and new mum from Mount Gambier in South Australia survived elimination on the reality singing show tonight after a sing-off against Big T.

"I'd like to thank X Factor for this journey of a lifetime and my man right here, Chris Isaak," Big T, real name Tangaroa Te Tai, said.

"This ain't the end of Big T it's just the start so watch this space."

A split judging panel sent the result to deadlock, which reverts back to the public vote to determine which of the bottom two singers go home.

"When you start singing it brings tears to my eyes," said Adams' mentor James Blunt.

Guy Sebastian said Adams was the singer who was ready to be a recording artist.

Tonight's outcome ensures three of the four celebrity judges will have a singer in the grand final, with Dannii Minogue sidelined after losing Mahalia Simpson last week.

Adams left a powerful impression with her rendition of Roxanne by The Police.

Despite her mentor admitting he'd let her down with his song choices for last night's live performance show, the former lawyer had clearly built a solid fan base over the past two months.

Cyrus Villanueva is still the favourite, though, to win the show's grand prize, a recording contract with Sony Music Australia.

But online betting agency SportsBet has revised its odds with Adams tipped to be the runner-up ahead of duo Jess & Matt.
