Escape from house fire for lucky Tweed residents

OCCUPANTS were lucky to escape a house fire in Tweed Heads South last night.

Fire and Rescue NSW received a call at 11.13pm yesterday about a fire in a loungeroom at a Cooloon Crescent residence.

It took firefighters, accompanied by three fire trucks, about 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which was confined to the loungeroom where it likely originated.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

Tweed Police said they were not investigating the cause of the fire at this stage.
