Lynn provides the fireworks as crowd has a blast

"NO LYNN, no win".

It has been the catch cry of the summer and who can disagree?

A solo effort with the bat by Brisbane Heat star Chris Lynn to make a valuable 81 runs from just 53 balls at the Gabba last Sunday night kick-started our Big Bash League title defence.

Blasting six sixes in his innings against the Perth Scorchers, Lynny (pictured) vied with the 'half-time' entertainment, 'Rocketman', as crowd favourite for the evening.

In what was our first home-ground win since the inaugural Big Bash League season three years ago, it was a great feeling in the rooms post- match.

The crowd also enjoyed it. Spectator consensus following play was that it was the best game of cricket many had seen in a long time, with each and every fan left wanting more.

Hopefully this is reflected again tomorrow night in game two against Hobart.

Personally, it was nice to be able to contribute for the boys, and particularly for a win. It's been a rather lean start to the year with both bat and ball compared to years gone by.

Over the course of a career this tends to happen a number of times to each and every player.

Countless hours are spent doing extras and watching vision trying to nut out what is going wrong ... exactly how my past two months have gone.

At times you can feel as though you have no idea where your next run or your next wicket is going to come from - that is exactly how I felt leading into the match on Sunday night against Perth.

That probably explains my extra joyous celebrations at the fall of each wicket.

Hopefully I can carry this extra bit of momentum into the game tomorrow night, keeping simple plans for both batting and bowling and trying to soak up the local Christmas atmosphere while I'm at it.
