UPDATE: Man charged over Bakers Creek stabbing

UPDATE 11am: The 46-year-old who was stabbed in the chest last night is now in a stable condition at Mackay Base Hospital.


UPDATE 8.30am: A 52-YEAR old Bakers Creek man has been charged with 'adult wounding' following the stabbing of a 46-year-old man last night.

He was taken into custody at the scene and will appear in Mackay Magistrates Court tomorrow.


EARLIER: POLICE are at the scene of a serious assault at Bakers Creek (Mackay).

At around 7.30pm, police were called to a residence on Walz Rd where a man had sustained a stab wound to his chest.

The man, aged in his 50s, has been transported to the Mackay Base Hospital in a serious condition.

Another man was located at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.

There is no further information at this stage as investigations are continuing.
